Putting footpaths on the map – what we have done – Oct 2020

We have started collecting information about the accessibility of footpaths in different Irish cities. By 21st October 2020 our pilot group have already:

  • Collected more than 20,000 pictures of footpaths around Cork city, Dublin city, Galway city and Swords.
  • Moved along more than 27 kilometers.

Now we need your help to map all other footpaths around Ireland.

The blue lines in the following images below show the areas where we have already taken pictures to measure footpath accessibility. All images were extracted from Mapillary.com.

Northeast region of Galway city around the Castlegar and Terryland area as well as Tuam Road up to the Bohermore cemetery. (See the original data by clicking here)
The eastside of Cork city around the Docklands, Ballintemple and Blackrock. (See the original data by clicking here)
Some streets at the south of the Dublin canal as well as the footpaths at the main roads around Glasnevin, Whitehall, Donnycarney up to Coolock in the northeast of Dublin city. (See the original data by clicking here)
